Founded in 1949, the Watershed Association is a non-profit membership organization that works with towns, businesses and land owners to preserve water quality and the natural environment in the 265-square mile area of central New Jersey drained by the Stony Brook and the Millstone River. Its headquarters are located on the Watershed Reserve, which encompasses the organic farm and includes 860 acres of fields, forests, wetlands, the Stony Brook and Wargo Pond. Fourteen miles of trails lace the Reserve and are open to the public year round, dawn to dusk. The Reserve also serves as an "open air classroom" to a full range of environmental education programs for children of all ages, families and adults.
